I'm taking geometry next year. Does anyone know how a blind person can survive it?

Oh that horiblely hidious subject. You will survive it, just survive, nothing else.

If your teacher who's assisting you with it can help you by finding some actual plastic representations of some of the shapes you're bound to run in to, such as the cone, sphere, pyramid, the half-sphere, the cube, the prism, the cylinder, and stuff like that, have them look before the school year starts. Those definitely helped me a great deal. I'm surprised I remember the shapes I've just written down a couple of sentences ago. lol

Blunder through it, there's no good way to do it. Algebra is much better.

Work your ass off on the extra credit report she gives you at the end of the term.

No, but if you have a braillest who knows about math, I had mine sit in class with me, so she could tutor me later lol.
also, maybe if you know what puff paint is? Get the figures from the teacher ahead of time, paint them, label them, and you're good.
also, wiki sticks, if you know what those are, helped me too.
But I had a God Awful teacher, dunno how I survived it.

How did that work for the shapes that were three-dimensional? with puffy paint, I mean.

well, my braillest tried to use dotted lines, but it didn't work. we didn't have a bunch of 3 d stuff.
but I'd suggest, hmmm. trying to either find a plastic figure and labling it with wiki sticks, or something.
there's no easy way to get through geometry honey. Just hope you don't fail it. lol.

If you get a book in braille good luck because some of the pictures are bad.

Oh, yeah, I had all these worries beforehand about this class, but if you have the right things it’s pretty easy. I practically fly through this class, which I am totally surprised at. My teacher omits all the drawings, and she actually tells me to describe them. Have her or him give the Braille transcribers all their lesson plans. My teacher did, and it really works out. After that, pay close attention to stuff from the book. They are fine. Also, ask lots and lots of questions. I sit in my geometry classroom at lunches, so to get my teacher’s attention, whenever I need it. Also, for the three dimensional figures, there is a way to draw them out so don’t worry. Also bring these things:
Graph paper (the four quadrants one)
Wicky sticks
Sticky dots
Brailled letters
Cutter
Reading pad
Writing device (brailler, brailleNote)
Braille protractor
Braille ruler
A regular compass
A geometer
The life saving calculator (scientific, use the one on your BrailleNote if you have one)
